PRIZES, COMMISSIONS, AND MAJOR PERFORMANCES

• 2003: Brandenburg Concerto No.7 (string orchestra with flute, piccolo, and harpsichord) performed by the Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra in the New England Conservatory (Boston)'s Jordan Hall
• 2002: Bess, the Landlord's Daughter (an orchestral fantasy on Alfred Noyes' The Highwayman), commissioned by the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra, performed in May by the WYSO under Bradford Chase in Mechanics Hall
• 2000: Rondo Concertante for piano and orchestra, commissioned by the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras and performed by me with the GBYSO Repertory Orchestra under Joel Bard in Boston's Symphony Hall (March) and the Tsai Center (May)
• 2000: Scherzo for cello and orchestra, commissioned by the Longwood Symphony Orchestra for its March concerts with Bion Tsang in Jordan Hall and Andover, MA.
• 1999: Yossele Solovey (Opera, libretto by Jeremy Dauber based on the novel by Sholem Aleichem), produced by Harvard's Lowell House Opera for a premiere run of six performances in March
• 1998: Chameleon Echoes (violin and 'cello), commissioned for and performed by Scott Yoo and Bion Tsang at the Seattle Chamber Music Festival
• 1997: American Rhapsody (solo piano), commissioned by and performed for the Boston Consulting Group
• 1996: Love Is Here to Stay [Gershwin] and Fair Harvard [traditional/S.Gilman], arrangements for men's chorus performed by the Harvard Glee Club at the 1996 Kennedy Center Awards
• 1995: Allegro Troppo (string orchestra) performed by the Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra in Harvard University's Sanders Theatre
• 1993: Three Kings of Orient and It Came Upon the Midnight Clear [Christmas carols] arrangements for men's chorus performed by the Harvard Glee Club and broadcast on BBC Christmas program
• 1992: Overture for Stuyvesant for symphonic band, commissioned by Max Watras on behalf of Stuyvesant High School to celebrate the opening of its new school building and premiered in 1993 by the Stuyvesant Symphonic Band in New York City
• 1991: Shema [Deut. 6: 4-7] for unaccompanied 8-part SATB chorus, commissioned by Jameson Marvin for the Campaign for Choral Music at Harvard-Radcliffe and performed 4/1991 by the combined choirs of Harvard University at Sanders Theatre
• 1982 & 1981: Broadcast Music Inc. Award for Young Composers, for Sextet (piano and woodwinds) and Impromptu for Orchestra
