If it is what I think, this is a common problem which is simple to fix.
The Dom0 is grabbing all the memory, leaving none for your video device.
Limiting the Dom0 memory should take care of the problem.
In /boot/grub/menu.lst, add "dom0_mem=930M" to the end of the kernel
line and reboot.
The value I used will probably work, but you should adjust it for your
system.
