Thread-topic: Xen 3 networking issues
Hello allz,
some time ago, several Xen 3 networking issues have been reported in
both the user mailing list as well as in bugzilla.xensource.com,
especially when using 8021q tagged vlan interfaces (i. e.
http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=642).
Meanwhile, I daily checked the xen-testing changelog looking for patches
which might fix those issues, but the last one submitted is from 3 weeks
ago (I searched for checksum and vlan).
Does somebody know if anybody is working on and/or investigating those
issues (the bug I submitted has not yet been acknowledged)?
Or perhaps they are already fixed?!
We are waiting for a xen 3 version with working bridged vlan interfaces
to set up a large environment (> 100 servers), both for us as well as
for one of our largest customers. But in my humble opinion, using
ethtool to disable checksum offloading or something similar to
workaround the networking issues instead of fixing them is not an
acceptable situation for a xen version which is called "stable", and is
not a suitable solution for production use. :-(
Cheers,
