[microformats-discuss] url canonicalization

A problem that comes up for anyone that works on systems which
consume web resources is the problem of url canonicalization. I'm
sure many of you have run into situations like this. One example is
LiveJournal, where each blog is available at
http://username.livejournal.com/
http://livejournal.com/~username/
http://livejournal.com/users/username/
Perhaps there is a case for using a microformat for declaring one of
these as canonical. It doesn't seem to me that rel="canonical" or
rel="self" will cover this.
Ideas?
