[Yaesu] FL-2100B Question.

Since you're starting out with a restored unit I'd check the filament voltage on those tubes. Use a good AC volt meter. Pay attention to the transformer taps and make sure they're correct. Use clip leads directly to the socket WITH TUBES INSTALLED. Even using the right taps on the transformer those often had excessive filament voltage causing you to go through tubes at the speed of light. I had to put a resistor in mine when I had it years ago. I simply wound a small length (around a foot or 18" if I remember right) of #18 solid copper wire around a 1/2" ceramic form to get it down. Don't take my wire measurements for granted, do your own calculations depending on what you discover. You might be lucky and not have to make any changes, but it's worth the effort to check. Prior to that I went through two sets of tubes in 18 months. I'd set it to a voltage a few tenths below the spec, they'll run for years that way and you won't have any emission loss.

Restoration is almost complete on a FL-2100B amplifier. Massive cleanup,
installation of a three wire cord and repainting the cabinet from black to
grey and the trim ring to its correct color. Fans also needed cleaning and
a relube plus some screw replacement to make it all look nice.
In the SWR circuit are two variable resistors, VR1 and VR2 but I don't see
any alignment instructions in the manual. Does anyone have the process?
