[Yaesu] FT2000 DSP problem

To me a microprocessor is a component, like a Motorola 6800, which can be
used to build a microcontroller.
Even my Yaesu FT-990 radio (17+ years old) uses a microprocessor to decode
and process all of its functions,
like changing bands, etc. A microprocessor is not a DSP (Digital Signal
Processor) but it can be used with
DSP's to perform ancillary control functions.

"That's why I refuse to buy a uP-controlled radio, no matter it's
reputation. I'll stick with good ole-fashioned microcontrollers"
what's the difference between microprocessor and microcontroller?
tnx
