[Yaesu] FT-767 2 meter receive very low

I have a 767 that I just bought on ebay that has all three modules. I have 
only tried it on HF and two meters because I don't have a 6 meter or 440 
antenna. It works okay on HF but on two meters I can barely hear a local 
repeater the comes in very strong on my HT. I've looked at the book to try 
to find out if there's something I'm missing but I haven't found anything to 
help!
Can someone straighten me out or give me a little help please?
