Well i got it to move finally, turned on the controller and just left it
powered for a while and came back now and then and tapped it side to side,
finally broke free. I don't know the rating on the grease that Yaesu uses,
never had any trouble with it last year fortunately. I have another new
G-800SA that will go on my second tower when i complete that, all but the
top section is up now.
I often though about adding some supplemental heat in them. Heck the wiring
is already there as its a seven pin plug on the rotor and only six pins get
wired according to the manual, but if you look deeper at the schematic only
four pins are needed or connected for operation, two for the motor and two
for the position pot. Could put some current up another pair of wires and
some resistive heat inside.
