Hi Anders,
The FT-450 is a 100W-class compact transceiver, somewhat larger than the
IC-7000 (229 x 84 x 217 mm, 3.6 kg). It is apparently IF-DSP based; the
final (DSP) IF is 22 kHz.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

The manual states:
"The FT-450 is a rugged, innovative multiband, multimode portable
transceiver for the amateur radio HF/VHF bands. Providing coverage of the
160-10 meter bands plus the 6 m, the FT-450 includes operation on the SSB,
CW, AM, FM, and Digital modes, yielding the most comprehensive performance
package available for field operation."
Non QRP field radio with no tuner but with DSP "bell's" features it seem to
be. The front is not detacheble. Size bigger than a typical mobil
tranceiver.
Would be interesting to see a block diagram on it.
