[Yaesu] FT857D vs FT100D in HF performance

Here is a question I thought I knew the answer to, but now I am not so sure.
I recently picked up a FT857D with the intention of using it for VHF and
UHF, but now it might become my primary HF rig also, at least for awhile.
Now I have been using it on 6 and it has been performing very well. Good
sounding receiver on it also. I also like some of the different CW features
on it, as well as the headphones jack, which the FT100D didn't have.
I had an orignal FT857 a while ago and didn't like it. It was plagued with
problems on 6m and the receiver seemed noisy on HF. The D model seems
improved in these areas. The FT100D I had before definitely outperformed the
FT857, but has anyone been able to compare it to the 857D with CW filters in
it? Are they comparable on HF (with the D upgrades in the 857 and filters)
or is the FT100D still the better HF performer?
