[Yaesu] What is wrong with SMA?

I like the SMA on my VX7R compared to the BNC connector. First of all the
SMA give a better, more solid, connection in my opinion. Every HT I ever
had with a BNC got loose and wobbly after use.
Sure, the SMA does have its drawbacks. Its fragile in many ways, I've seen
guys cross thread them, and I have seen HT's with the SMA snapped off from
being dropped with a dual band whip on it. And then you have people who
hang a SO-239 to SMA adapter off it and wonder why its broke, etc..
Overall though, I would rather have the SMA. If you have a current HT with
SMA and want BNC they make a nice low profile adapter to screw onto the
radio and put whatever you want for a BNC antenna on instead.

Scott
