That is very strange because I installed a narrow CW filter when I had my
rig but I never had to do any wire changes.
I don't have the book or rig now but I would do a full CPU reset.
After the reset let it sit for 5 minutes with no power attached and then
turn it on.
BTW,
That rig runs hot just on RX.
I modified mine with 2 very high CFM fans.
People don't like the noise but it keeps the rig cooler.
Also remove the covers.
Those small holes are for air intake and they have thin fabric that gets
plugged up.
For some reason Yeasu put plastic on the top cover to keep air from coming
in but I removed it.
I had some issues with mine but I went into the menu after the CPU reset
then also into the so called factory menu.

HISTORY: I discovered the FM problem (WFM) only in
the past few hours. Usually only operate on CW. I
remembered a
very thin bright green wire that had become
disconnected (a year ago?) when installing the 300 Hz
CW filter. This wire bridges
the two boards (top view) and becomes a bit of a
problem when installing the CW-N filter. I attempted
to reconnect this wire (many months ago) and
did not experience any problems and operated
successfully on CW for many months.
Today, I thought that perhaps the WFM/FM issue (above)
was related to the green wire. So I went
into the radio to try to reconnect the wire. After
this escapade, I experienced the problems described
above.
