Hi Dave
OK, don't beat me, I give up. So that int was causing the problem.
Went thru the manual and found it on page 50. I had read the page before but
I didn't realize what the int did. I was holding in the Volume control and
that was why nothing happen. The instructions said momentarily so I did a
quick bump and lo and behold the int left. My big fingers and small knobs
don't get along very well. Also, I see that tone was a DTMF tone and not a
tone burst.
Now I just need to work on the scan tone deal. Will deal with that
tomorrow.
Many thanks for the help.

Push the lower left hand volume control in and you will see the "int" cycle.

Just picked up a FT-8800R. Easy to program the normal channels but I
have found some problems.

1. The tone burst is active, TCALL page 53. How do I disable it. Can't
find any thing in the manual

2. Odd split does not work as per the instructions, page 33. Is there
some thing missing in the instructions? After the steps, I get the word
error" on the screen when I key the radio.

3. Out of curiosity I tried the Tone Search Scanning mode, page 31. Does
not work as per instructions. Any ideas.

Help will be very much appreciated.
