One more thing, since I am not a lawyer, it would again, be beneficial to research your options and to fully understand that not all warranties are restricted to what the manufacturer tells you. Most manufacturers will not volunteer what they are obligated to do, but if you remind them, then that may work harder.

ICOM America’s standard repair policy is to offer all technical updates free-of-charge to any ICOM America radio still in production. Please complete the form below and a Technical Service Representative will contact you with more information on how to send your radio in for the Technical Update."
>> So, I stand partially corrected. But keep in mind that if one understands what a real warranty is, under US law, then you should know that they are possibly obligated. If you have a realtively new radio (within reason) and it dies and you are not the original owner, then you may still be covered. There are Warranties of Fitness that apply in the USA. People do have protection under the law. Even if "they" state that "they" do not cover implied nor expressly stated, they still are likely to have an obligation, under US law. They are CERTAINLY Warranties of Fitness for a particular use. The radio should work for a reasonable amount of time as long as you do not abuse it. The key is, clearly understanding what is reasonable.
>> Do some research on the UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) in the US. Again... just trying to help. Understanding these laws may be beneficial to all even beyond the ham radio world.
