[Yaesu] FT-650 Problems

Couple of issues, I have noticed that when I first power up my FT-650 I get no SSB output, the ALC meter on SSB goes to 3/4 deflection on key up on SSB (without speaking into the mic), after about 5 minutes warm up, ALC on keyup is zero until I introduce audio and SSB response is normal,(which is what I would expect) any ideas, second problem, I am still convinced that I should not have to have the AF gain at at least the two oclock position to have a good level of Audio, indeed I can turn it full up and its still not loud (only on SSB, if I switch to FM then noise levels seem normal) I know this radio has a low noise floor, but not that low, anyone have any ideas
