Hi Group.
Buddy of mine asked me to adjust the deviation of his FT-2800M radio.
Since I have an IFR 500 A I thought it would be no trouble. H A !
After going through the MIC gain control settings on page 46 and finding
out that on wide it has a deviation of +/- 3.5 kHz and on narrow it
is +/- 2.0 kHz to a very strong whistle, I opened the radio and looked for
a deviation control. I retired 7 years ago from being a VHF and UHF radio
tech with the CNR. About the time that surface mount technology was
entering
our line of work. I was amazed at how little there is in there and even
more
amazed when I could not find anything that looked like a deviation control.
Is there anybody out there that can clue me in as to how to get his
deviation up ?
