[Yaesu] Re: Part for FT-100

Bob,
Poor choice of words on my part. What I should have said was that Yaesu
had no more of the transistors and would not be getting any more. I had
not realized that the MRF166W was a 28 volt device but I did verify that
with a quick look at the spec sheet. Also the SK701, SK702 and BLF546,
BLF548 are too. I could not find the BLF549 listed on Phillips site so it
too may be discontinued. In light of this info I think that I will just
list the radio on eBay as a "tech special". One might could get decent
power out of the BLF548 at 13.8 volts since at 28 volts it is rated at 160
watts out but then again you may not. I can't see how the FT-100 series is
still bringing fairly decent money on the used market with this bad news
hanging over its head. I guess in the future the rig will be referred to
as a HF/6 meter rig with VHF/UHF receive capability. Looked at in that
light the used price will probably settle somewhere around 350ドル to 400ドル
where the Alinco DX-70s are now. Oh well. Live and learn. I was told as a
young man that those lessons learned the hard way were the ones best
learned. 73
