 I understand that the interface cable to use the FT-1000 and the FL-7000
amp is still available from Yaesu. My manual shows part #D4000019 but
noticed that someone was showing E-747 as being the correct cable. Are they
referring to the same cable? Also, what is the going price on this cable
from either Yaesu or suppliers now? I am in the market for one of those just
in case someone on this has one surplus to their needs.

The stock battery pack (FNB-64 -- 7.2V, 700mah) for the VX-150 appears
to contain 6 AA Nicad cells.
The pack appears to be held together by the 2 screws ('Y' shaped slot)
that make up the charger contacts.
Screw driver bit for this 'security' screw are available (I already have
the larger size ones).
Can the battery pack be disassembled by us mere mortals by merely
removing the two battery contacts screws ?
If so, can the cells be replaced with 6 x AA NMHI type (which would
yield 7.2V 2300 mah ) ?
