[Yaesu] FT1000MP/MKV question

Hi John and company,
The sub receiver works perfectly for what you're proposing.
I recently ended up with a spare 2.1KHz 3rd IF filter and decided to install
it in the sub receiver as a replacement for the OEM Murata. The improvement
in receiver quality was simply incredible.
It really turned a rather ordinary but usable receiver into an outstanding
receiver which I now use almost as much as I do the main receiver.
The 2.1KHz is probably a bit too tight, so I may consider maybe the 2.8 or
ideally about a 2.4 to 2.6, but they don't seem to be readily available from
Inrad or from Yaesu except as Collins mechanicals which I personally don't
like.
It may be an option to consider. It does call for some surgery, but is well
worth it in my opinion.
Regards,
Dean - 8P6SH
