Yes, and I have beaten this particular dead horse before, but please let me
ask you this... I hit "reply to all"... now you ( Jon ) PLUS Jim PLUS the
list will get this. And then Jon and Jim will get it twice since they are on
the list.
I just don't get it. Email lists exist to distribute thoughts to a group.
Almost every time there is a transmission it is for the group. Most times
you hit reply you are intending it for everyone. Rarely would you want to
comment to the individual. Should not the burden be on the replyer to either
cut-n-paste the address or even simpler open the message as a reply and then
click on the "to" link on the rare occasion you want to reply directly,
rather than each and every reply where I have to manually trim out the
originator so as to not make them receive it twice?

I doubt it. Although it is an option, every Yahoo!group I am on is
"reply=reply to list" and I am on over 50 of them.

No, I don't think so, since Yahoo! rejects mail from non-members and SpamCop
sends the message.
Please, enlighten me. I really want to know why this makes so much sense to
me and is so wrong to some others.
I have used the example before: if your HT lost its repeater offset and
reverted to simplex after every transmission you would consider it a bug.
Thanks
