[Yaesu] FT-847 Disc Meter adjustment?

Ron,
To fix this problem, you need to perform the "144 MHz Band Scan Discriminator
Center-Stop Adjustment" on Page 3-6 of the Service Manual. You will need a
service monitor to do this properly, or a very accurate and stable signal
generator and a deviation meter. You first set the FT-847 to receive a
particular VHF frequency, then you inject a signal that is first 3 kHz low, then
3 kHz high, and save each of these conditions into the Alignment Memory. The
CPU determines the midpoint between these extremes, and calls that the zero
point. If you then inject the center frequency, the discriminator meter should
be centered.
If you perform the alignment with a known-accurate service monitor, but your
local repeaters still show an error, I would suspect that the repeaters are not
on-frequency.
