The "C" denotes Collins Filter installed @ factory....
No "C", means NOT installed!

My FT900 s/n 4H020308:
Carton says FT-900/AT, then in bullet points below includes "CAT System"
I see both AT and AT CAT models advertised, with a considerable
difference in prices. What's the difference and what do I have?
I'd like to trade it for an FT-817 if anyone's interested. Mine is
like new, in the original cartons and was completely gone over by
Yaesu last summer, with zero hours since then, and probably only 50
hours from when it was new. Includes new separation kit.
