Well, I've found mine to do 100 Watts output on CW and FM while average
power on SSB is considerably lower. Full power can be acheived on SSB,
but only if the average audio to the mic is high like a whistle or a
drawn out "four." Under normal speech an average reading wattmeter will
show about 25 to 30 watts while in peak reading around 60 watts seems to
be the norm.
These numbers were taken from highly calibrated MFJ wattmeters. ;-)
Overall the average SSB output "feels" lower than on my FT-890.
