[LOGic] Problem with Logic and HRD

Thanks for the response, Billi. I have never been to Akureyri, but I
understand it's beautiful. I noticed from your QRZ.com listing that you are
on VHF/UHF also. When I took my HT to Iceland two years ago, I could never
find any activity on 2M in Reykjavik. Also, I have an IRLP/EchoLink node
and I've never heard any activity on the TF3GW node. Perhaps you can give
me some tips on best times, etc.

Hello Carl and nice to hear from you.
I am in Akureyri in Eyjafjordur on the northern coast of Iceland. I have
also been using Logic for a long time. The first version vas in DOS.

Sorry, I got my directions mixed up . . . my afi was from the EASTERN part;
Hóll is in the west. -- 73 de N8VZ

Billi,
Just thought I'd say hello. I'm a long-time user of LOGic, and I'm of
Icelandic descent on my mother's side. Both my maternal afi and amma were
born in Iceland. Afi's folks were from the western side of the island. Amma
came from a little farm Hóll, north of Borgarnes in Dalasysla. I had the
pleasure of visiting the farm a few years ago.

Hello Mauro.
Thank you for the info and this shure explains why I cant change anything.
I try next time to export from HRD only the minimum data possible and se
what will happen.

Hello Billi,
the problem that you have highlighted is because HRD uses the very long
names of variables and when the ADIF file is read and transferred,
frequently the Logic qso database record is filled and does not record more
than 255 characters.
That's why you just can not change anything in the log-form. To make changes
you have to erase extra data for space on the record.
Unfortunately, a similar problem happens to those who do contests, and
transfers the data into Logic that does not make the necessary checks as
well as for DX QSOs entered in real time.
You could work around this problem by exporting the HRD data using the
option to transfer only essential data files to ADIF.
Hope this message can help you to solve the problem.
