[LOGic] WSJT <> LOGic functionality

Mel,
I don't know for sure -- but I assume not. I've never been aware of Joe saying
anything about a DDE interface in his code. This is why I'm not holding out
too much hope.
However, Simon Brown's (HB9DRV) DM780 multi-mode digital control program is
going to be sporting WSJT capability soon. My understanding is that Simon is
working on it, or possibly even final-testing it, at this time. This program
interfaces seamlessly with his Ham Radio Deluxe (HRD) software. If this all
works as well as Simon's stuff usually does, I'll move over to that system for
my VHF WSJT work.
My sense is that Simon's implementation is a completely original code set
supporting the WSJT modes, rather than a port of Joe Taylor's code. Could be
wrong, don't quote me. Joe's WSJT software works exceedingly well, so it would
be a high bar to cross.
BTW -- FSK441 definitely benefits from QRO power, as do all weak-signal modes
where you're running at or just above the noise floor -- but I know a lot of
guys who run FSK411 on 6m very successfully with 100W and a low, simple beam.
I run 400W to 5-over-5 at 40 ft, and wouldn't mind running more, but this is
by no means "necessary" to make contacts using this mode.
And it is really fun. :-)
