I realized this week how much the QRZ service as implemented in Logic was
adding to my joy of ham radio. Probably the detail which means the most is
that many hams are including a home page URL on their QRZ page which often
discusses their family and other interests in life. I find that accessing
this during a QSO gives me entrée into a meaningful conversation that
rapidly gets beyond station equipment and antennas.
This as well as the Note and Bio features of Logic are the ones which mean
the most to me.
I recently ordered a new color photo QSL card from Tony, LZ1JZ, and today
I used the Logic report writer to modify one of Dennis' QSL card designs
for the back of the QSL card. I used the Note field as an extensive QSL
Message so that the QSL card can have meaningful comments to the other ham
about the QSO and mutual interests. I am quite satisfied with the result.
That report writer is very powerful but when you only use it every five
years or so it has a steep learning curve... HI HI.
