And even if you do not type in a filename, it will use "EXPORT.ADI" as a
default. 
Try exporting without entering a filename at all.

The only way I can get the message as you indicated is by typing .N9IJ into
the export file name field. Strange...

It sure does appear that way but I was using the filename field and it 
does the same even when I leave the default EXPORT in the field. I 
also tried using tab-delimited with the same result. I have used this 
procedure many times to export but never ran into this before. I am 
leaving the filter box blank to export all data so I am only clicking 
defaults.
