Are you moving the cable as well or have you tried the Yaesu cable on the
Kenwood?? They should be the same, (straight through) per both the MP and
2000 manuals...

Well we made some progress here...but still mystery.
No, I never used LOGIC's Data Scope but I read the docs on it after your
recommendation. Says it only works with Radio 1, so (for the first time) I
set the TS2000 to Radio 1 and again changed the cables back to COM1 , what I
had with the old FT1000MP.
Before I could even get Radio Scope going, the rig & LOGIC started talking
to each other! I swear I did all this before, the only difference was I
never defined the TS2000 as Radio #1 (kept trying to force it to Radio #2).
Once I tested it, and everyting worked, I went back to the other cable,
COM4, and changed the LOGIC setup to handle the TS2000 as Radio #1 on COM4.
No Joy!!!
I checked Device Manager and the COM port settings were consistent with what
was set in LOGIC.
Since I can make the LOGIC-TS2000 handshake work in one specific condition,
I think this clears it as
a) Not a rig issue
b) Maybe not a cable a cable issue???
c) LOGIC is happy with Rig #1...not sure about others
I think this is either a port issue, or an issue in LOGIC where Rig #2 is
processed differently than Rig #1.
As mentioned previously, the RS232 test dongle shows blinking LED's when I
send commands, so I think this is significant.
Does this feedback do anything for you guys?
BTW thanks for your time, thoughts, and motivation!
