[LOGic] RE:DXCC Country Names

What makes it more puzzling is that in the Spot Log form there is a "DXCC
Description" column which must be getting its information from somewhere!

The comment field for GUId says "128-bit globally unique QSO identifier"
and it's a character field.
It seems to be used only for Logic

GUID is an acronym which typically stands for Group User ID and is a field
used by LOGic internally.
In earlier versions of Logic-8, the GUID field was turned on for ADIF export
by default and many programs like MixW did not know what to do with it.
In the most recent versions, Dennis has changed the default and turned off
GUID for ADIF export by default.
You can manually change it yourself by selecting: Tools|Setup|Log Fields...
In that dialog box, select the ADIF tab.
Search for "GUID" and make sure that the only box checked for that field is
"Import".
Better yet, upgrade to the latest version of the software where this problem
is resolved.

I'm having a problem with the LOGic export routine. When I export to an
ADIF file, the last field is titled "guid" and contains non-ASCII
characters. ADIF is not supposed to have any non-ASCII fields. When I try
to import this ADIF file into MixW, it will only export about two records
and then crashes. Any idea how to stop LOGic from exporting the "guid"
field. Any idea what it actually is? I've emailed Dennis about this issue,
but haven't yet received a response. In the meantime, I thought one of the
learned ones on this list might know what the problem is and what a fix
might be.
Thanks & 73,

Does anyone know a quick way to modify the log form to display not just the
DXCC prefix (which is standard) but also the full country name? I know I can
look it up a million ways to Sunday, but I just wanted it to appear on the
log form automatically. I thought I knew the program pretty well by now, but
I just haven't been able to figure this one out.

I have wondered how to do that also. I've tried several things, but none
worked.
If anyone knows, I guess we'll find out together.
