Did you run a "Clean"? I had no such problems.

Subject: [LOGic] Logic 8 installation problems
I hate it when Dennis has a new release.
After 18 years you would think he would have the update installation
issues resolved, yet every release I have problems with migration of
data from the previous release. I would MUCH prefer if he spent some
time and energy developing a TOTALLY TRANSPARENT new release
installation process.
Besides having to go thru and hand port my updated user fields and forms
(If he's going to provide the capability of allowing us to make our own
user fields and forms then he should also automatically migrate them,
this is one of my BIGGEST complaints and frustrations with this
software!), I am getting numerous errors when trying to start Logic8.
This upgrade has been installed in it's own subdirectory and I am just
trying to get it to run.
Here are just a few of the errors I get:
Error 1 "File 'd:logic8\log_pictures.dbf' does not exists." has occurred
in program LOG_FORM.LOAD, line 11.
Error 1806 "SQL: Column 'ESQL_OK" is not found'" has occurred in program
MAKE_LOGFIELDS_CURSOR, line 10.
Error 13 "Alias 'LOG_PICTURES' is not found." has occurred in program
LOG_FORM_BROWSE.BROWSEPAGEFRAME.PAGEPICTURES.IMAGEBROWSER1.INT,line 3.
Error 12 "Variable 'GUID' is not found." has occurred in program
_1WI0K22MJ.BROWSEPAGEFRAME.PAGEPICTURES.REFRESH, line.
Error 12 "Variable 'CALL' is not found." has occurred in program
_1WI0K3U82.ACTIVATE, line 20;
Error 52 "No table is open in the current work area." has occurred in
program _1WI0K3U82.PRE_SAVE, line 39.
I gave up after getting an additional 20 errors after the above errors.
I have attempted uninstalling logic 8 and reinstalling from scratch,
same set of errors.
My Logic 7 works great (after having many installation problems at the
beginning) and I know it's just a matter of (frustrating) time to get
this product installed before it will work, but why do I have to go thru
this every time a new release comes out?
Anybody have any dead what is causing the above errors with a clean install?
Once I get Logic 8 installed, what again are the files that have to be
copied over (by hand!) from Logic 7 to Logic 8?
Plea to Dennis--------- PLEASE develop an installation process that
WORKS and copies/converts EVERYTHING needed from a prior release ino
your new release.
