[LOGic] QSL: Managing sent and received

Hi Rich,

the first question has been perfectly answered by Dan, about the second one,
to convert the value of
any field for a lot of records, go to Tools > Advance > Database Commands,
now in the menu, click on "Database files" > "Open" and select LOG.DBF from
Logic8/Logdata folder. Now again "Database files" > "Mass change" > "Replace
fields content". Here you must select from the drop down menu the field you
must replace (qsl_sent) , into the box WITH put " " (double
colon-space-double colon) and into the "Replace only if..." box QSL_SENT=
R' OR QSL_SENT='F' , use the filter button for a better understandig.

Just click in OK and the work is done.

For QSL Received field you need only change the fields names.

Hope it's useful

There's standard fields (QSL-R DATE + QSL-S DATE) which you can add to your
log form. Those fields will be filled in when you check in a received card
or allow a QSL report form to "mark as printed". Unfortunately, this won't
help you looking backwards, but if you start doing it, it'll make the
cerical part of QSL management a tad easier. Email me offlist and I can send

you a few screenshots.

As a matter of habits, I will add text to the COMMENTS field if there are
some rare ones which need repeated cards, greenstamps, etc., sent. I still
use the sent/recd fields but add comments, so, after 3+ tries for a rare one

(or a bootlegger) I at least know to stop beating the dead horse.

As to your 2nd question, I'm sure there's a way to do that cleanup, but I'm
really not a master at LOGIC and I try to not get too fancy (bull in China
shop syndrome).

Good luck es 73
