[Logic] LOGIC 7 keyboard "function keys" for cw question

Have reinstalled Logic 7 - thanks to all who gave me tips.
NOW the Question: I am a CW operator. Logic 7 allows one to preprogram the
keyboard "function keys" with CW message info. HOWEVER - not all keyboard
function keys are programmable.
Specifically, keyboard keys F5, F6 & F10 appear to be assigned to other
things (e.g. F6=Force Log, F5 drops down the "log" menu, etc)
This is confusing and seems illogical - what is the rationale for enabling
key board keys F1 thru F4, F7 thru F9, & F11-F12 but using keyboard keys F5,
F6, and F10 for other things?
It really cramps one's style - especially for contesting like this weekend's
NAQP.
NOTE: I realize the CW Key allows one to use alt + a single digit number to
get at cw speed keys when the Keyer form is active. But that is not nearly
as speedy as just depressing a single keyboard function key.
Please advise - or is this a 'bug' that I should report so it gets
corrected?
