I thought of this. I have resisted doing a master reset as the last time I
set up my MP the way I liked it was about 4 years ago, and while I have some
notes on menus, I'm not sure I could get it back the way I want!
The recent evidence is that the MP's on-board COM (CAT) port is dead, but I
guess before I open the case and attempt repairs, the Master Reset (and an
evening of writing down menu settings!) is in order.
