[Logic] SERIAL PORT ERROR?

Were that it was so!
LOGIC is the only program on this PC which wants to talk to the COM port. No
modems, no other devices or interfaces. There is only one COM port, and no
other programs running, even after cold boot.
I even tried uninstalling it from device manager, reinstalling, then running
just one copy of LOGIC, and same problem. I just don';t suspect it's the COM
port at all.
