[Logic] SERIAL PORT ERROR?

for what it's worth... I use Lava PCI serial/parallel boards (4 extra COM
and 1extra LPT) without any stability issues. However the expansion LPT port
is only used for my printer... it's not suitable for device control. The
imbedded LPT port on the motherboard (an Acer) works fine... I also have a
USB serial port adapter here which I will try one of these days and report
back.
some additional info which might be of some use...
When installing XP the install would hang repeatedly with all my hardware
plugged in (Extra COM/LPT and sound boards). I have found that the best way
to install XP is with a basic hardware set-up and add stuff later... BTW,
this applies to anything else that tries to identify your hardware on the
fly, ie Linux or W98 etc...
