Problem solved...
I was using a DB9 to DB25 converter on the end of my null
modem cable... This had a crossover between pins 2 and 3, which when added
to the existing crossover in the null modem cable, meant that it was now a
"STRAIGHT" cable with no crossover...{:o(
So I cut the end off, and wired in a new connector ( DB9) and all is now
working... {:o)
