To: TRX-Manager & LOGic Groups:
I'm using TRX-Manager v. 3.2.40 and LOGic v. 6.0.104.
At some point in various upgrades of TRX-Manager, I noticed in the
Listing-View of my log, the Operator was listed as "NA9A TS-950," instead
of "NA9A." I don't know if that started with an upgrade or when I added a
second radio for SO2R.
Apparently the TRX-Manager ADIF export routine automatically sizes to the
Operator field so "<OPERATOR:11>NA9A TS-950" is exported. But LOGic's ADIF
import routine seems fixed at six characters so when importing the ADIF
file, in the LOGic log, the Operator is showing as "NA9A T."
This was a small annoyance until I tried the KEYER feature of LOGic. In
LOGic, the keyer uses the operator's call that is in the currently
displayed LOGic LOG entry, so it sends "CQ CQ DE NA9A T." (It's a good
thing LOGic doesn't take all of the characters else my CW would be "CQ CQ
DE NA9A TS-950!")
I don't think TRX-Manager can export "<RIG:6>TS-950" because RIG isn't
listed as valid in the Amateur Data Interchange Format 1.0 (ADIF)
Specifications, but personally I don't need RIG in the Operator field. A
better solution would be for LOGic to use the "Your callsign" as entered
under Tools>Setup>Station information" for the LOGic Keyer.
Other than changes from Laurent and/or Dennis, does anyone have a
work-around for this oddity?
Thanks, Joe NA9A
