[Logic] keeping computer clock on time

Well, I used to keep up with all the OS upgrades, starting at, I think,
Apple DOS 2.0 and cp/m, and made a reasonable living with it and my
knowledge of electronics. Almost every upgrade meant purchasing
upgrades to at least some of the apps I used, particularly the various
utilities such as PC Tools needed to make up for OS problems. It also
meant a lot of time spent relearning how to do things. The cost didn't
matter to me, although my employer used to grumble. My time wasn't paid
for but I was younger and more enthusiastic about all those neat
computing things. Now I've retired, cancelled my subscription to PC
Mag, and no longer hunger for all the latest and greatest computing
stuff, especially if I have to upgrade/replace any of the apps I have
already paid for just to get the same subset of their functionality
that I now use. I definitely don't want to put in any more time
relearning how to do what I already know how to do. I'd much rather
spend my time improving my contest skills and scores. I've stopped for
now at Win98SE and hope to skip at least 4 OS upgrades (2 down and 2 to
go). Like Hiram Percy Maxim used to say, "Life's too short for QRP and
OS upgrades."
Sorry for the somewhat off topic rant. I'll blame it on an errant macro.
