Thanks to Mike, N3MA and the pix he sent, the trap door
is now sliding as it should. On my door, the slide bars
looked like they were glued to the door, but were just
stuck. I pried them loose, buffed the sliding area and
now the door is working as it should.

Subject: [Kenwood] TS-940S Trap Door Assembly
I sure hate to admit it, but darned if I can get this door back together so it
will work right. It looks like there should be two springs pressing on the ends
of the slid-bars at the front (when closed & the end where the little finger grip
button is) like there is at the rear. When I put them in place, as soon as the
door is slid back, the springs expand against the top (because the end of the
slide bar has moved past that point) and of course are in the way of the slide
bar when the door is re-closed. I'm sure I'm missing something simple and
will wind up with a red face. Can anyone set me straight? What are the holes
at each end of the slide bar for? I've never had the door apart, but have had
the 940S serviced a few times...is something missing?
Tnx, 73 de Bill K4JYS
