[Kenwood] Mint TS-830S/VFO-240 For Sale

Too many radios! Need to thin the herd.
Mint Kenwood TS-830S with matching VFO-240 external VFO. I bought both of these units new and have the original boxes, operating and service manuals, a collection of TS-830S notes and mods, some spare tubes, and plastic dust covers for both units. They have lived their entire life in a non-smoking environment.
This radio has been modified (by me) for increased performance. I was never a fan of the (wide) 2.7 khz Kenwood stock SSB filters. I purchased a pair of INRAD 2.1 khz filters and did a custom install of them in the radio. The INRAD filters are larger in size from the stock Kenwood filters so this required the custom installation.
I also built a custom PC board with relay switching to allow me to install a second I.F. 250 hz CW filter to complement the pair of Kenwood 500 hz filters. This allows you to select between 500/500hz or 500/250 hz filter pairs. The 500/250 hz filter pair is extremely useful on the low bands. I rewired the digital hold (DH) switch to accomplish the switching.
This radio is in mint condition and all functions work perfectly. 100+ watts output on all nine bands. I really hate to let this radio go as it has always been a favorite of mine but with all of the vintage Drake radios here, plus my other Kenwood radios, I really need to clear things out a bit.
The radio & VFO are set up and operating. You can come to my QTH and give them a test drive. I am not prepared to ship these units. I have seen too many mint radios damaged or destroyed in shipment. I can deliver in my local area of 18951.
