[Kenwood] Sluggish Buttons on TS570S?

Some of the push buttons on one of my TS570S rigs frequently 
must be pushed several times before they will do their job.
The primary culprits are the power button, the PF button 
(which I use a bunch), the tuner button, and sometimes the 
manual transmit button.
After experiencing other problems caused by a dirty power 
connector, I have cleaned it, and the voltage at the power 
socket on the back of the radio looks good.
This is one of those troubling intermittent problems that 
happens when it wants too, but never when you try to show 
someone what it is doing.
Any ideas, or is it simply dying of old age.
