There are many different flavors to this problem.
Terry and I have been on a back and forth "0ff-list".
We've gotten into more specifics such as access to power supply board,
the plug for the thermistor/thermal switch, and how to deal with specifics.
His particular problem is that the thermistor/thermal switch has FAILED.
Same problem I had. I caught it BEFORE it began to cook the innards.
Really doesn't require a voltage regulator to be added. One CAN if that
is their desire. The CPU fan I found to be more important, as it IS
ball bearing design with 24/7/365 in mind.
It also draws less than half the full rating, current wise, than what is
built-in.
Cheers!
