I have a late TS-850S as backup to my main TS-950SDX. I also have a TS-50 as a second backup and for Field Day. Over the years it has always been Kenwood all the way. 73 Bob W7KD ----- Original Message ----- From: "GALE STEWARD" <k3nd at yahoo.com> To: <kenwood at mailman.qth.net> Sent: Wednesday, November 09, 2011 10:14 AM Subject: Re: [Kenwood] Backup rig - advice requested FYI, I have a TS-850S as backup to my main TS-850S. I also have a TS-830 as a second backup. The 830 is still a very good radio. 73, Stew K3ND ________________________________ From: Richard Bell <richfbell at sbcglobal.net> To: kenwood at mailman.qth.net Sent: Wednesday, November 9, 2011 12:33 PM Subject: Re: [Kenwood] Backup rig - advice requested I second the vote for a TS-830S. I have one (bought new in '82) in addition to a Ten-Tec Omni VII. Don't use an amplifier so if I need a few more watts, the 830 gets the call. It also has been a very reliable radio. 73 W5BXE ______________________________________________________________ Kenwood mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/kenwood Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Kenwood at mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
