I had very good customer service from Astron a couple of years ago. I
called about getting a new control pc board for a RS35M and was forwarded to
the tech department. The fellow asked why I wanted a new board. The 35 amp
supply would only hold about 17 amps before tripping out. I told him I had
scoped the balancing resistors and they were all balanced so the power
transistors were all good and other things I had checked. He then asked
what the voltage was at some points on the board and then asked if I had any
resistors. He told me to parallel one of the resistors with another he
specified the approximate value of. He said the overcurrent was tripping
it. I had figured that but did not know where to fix it or why it would do
it at 17 amps (resistive load). He stayed on the phone with me the entire
time. The resister fixed the problem. I wouldn't have done that without
his direction but seems like the board that was in that supply that I had
bought used, was one from a 20 amp unit instead of the 35 amp supply.
Bottom line, he fixed it over the phone in about 45 minutes, made no sale,
and I contunie to be a very satisfied customer. The also sell the switches.
I also bought one of those a few years ago. Much easier that trying to find
something that might work. CALL them. They were very reasonable.

Subject: [Kenwood] Astron PS Parts
Greetings!
I hope this is not too far off topic. After all, I bet a lot of us use
Astron power supplies to power our Kenwoods, right?
I am in need of the on/off (power) switch for both an RS35M and an
RS35A. I would assume that they are the same switch.
I emailed Astron and have not heard diddly-squat. Soooooo....I was
hoping someone on the list could help out.
Thanks!
