I'd like to see them go the oppisite direction of the big auto makers.
Lately all the radio manufacturers ahve gone the route of the SUV, giant
rigs with tons of bells and whistles. all costing well over a kilobuck.
and then some to say the least.
I'd love to see a decent HF rig that was dirt cheap for beginners. Like
a old Drake TR-4 or a Kenwood 520. or something like that. small gets
you on the air, and is cheap! I mean like 2 meter FM cheap. No DSP,
no 1000 memories. no fancy filters, a bare bones dirwt cheap beginner rig.
That would be awesome! i HAVE TRIED TO GET MANY NEW PEOPLE INTO THE
HOBBY, oops caplock sorry, anyway, while they see interest, as soon as
they see the price tags on new rigs, or even old used ones they get
turned off right away. We need a entry level rig.
