[Kenwood] SM 230 scope trace question.

Alan,
On my SM-230, the knob labeled INTENSITY just to the right of the power
button has a 2nd function. If you pull it out, it rotates the trace.

Looking for info on making the trace parallel to the horiz. grid lines.
Opened the unit up, expecting to find the usual coil of copper wire on the
neck of the CRT, but no. Undid the rear saddle clamp and rotated it, moved
it slightly rearward, with no apparent affect.
An e-mail to Kenwood got the response that the item was considered vintage
Kenwood gear and therefore beyond repair!!
