[Kenwood] Weird happening on TS-850

I've looked at a few of the suggestions that were given. Key down power in
CW does not fluctuate at all. Output voltage from my Astron RS-35A power
supply is showing 13.7v during either key down or rx.
So now it's obvious to me that it's during SSB. Tim, NO0C, brought the
obvious observation about no modulation between words, no power. He's right
about that. But what I'm experiencing is a drop-off during modulation and
usually a let go of the PTT and a rekey will bring it back.
The symptoms point to the DC/DC converter but would a bad, or going, one
effect only one mode?

Sure, key it down in CW mode and see what happens. I'll bet the power
fluctuates up and down. If so the DC/DC converter needs to be changed and a
few caps. Also low voltage can cause it also. You should have 14v to the
back of the radio in key down tx.
