[Kenwood] TS-690 serial numbers

Hi Lynn,
Subtract 2 from the first digit in the serial number,
and that is the year of production. I think they came
out in 1991 (the QST review makes it sound like that)
and probably stopped production in 1997 when they were
replaced by the TS570. Having had both, the TS570 has
quite a few more features, but the TS690 has a much
better receiver and filter options. It is probably
one of the best rigs out there for 600ドル or less. A
real sleeper in the HF/6m rig market, and the
autotuner will load up a wet noodle.
