...usually the lower voltage electrolytics don't reform if left under
voltage. This is an effect more pronounced in high voltage units.
The most common thing in the low voltage units is a loss of capacitance and
the easiest way to "catch" them is to bridge a known good unit across them'
heeding the proper polarity, of course.
Just remember, you can have more than one so be patient!

I checked the main signal board...and wow what a great idea these kenwood
fold out boards..never having seen this sort of this..it impressed
me..just wish kenwood or icom had done the same...20 years ago...
Was told that I may be able to reform the electros around the audio amp if
I left the rig running for some time...a long shot..but I gave it a
try...no cigar so far..audio still distorts..with volume turned up over 
about one third....so looks like I am going to have to take the board
out...and try to check these electros first hand..
Anyone had experience with this audio issue on the 140S ????
