[Kenwood] SM220 and the TS850

Here's a request for the wise and all knowing amongst the group. Seems
that when I was at a hamfest today, that I was afflicted by that burning
urge to part with some pictures of dead famous people and came home with
a nice SM220 with the BS8 pan adapter in it. The seller wasn't sure and
neither was I at the time, but I did remember that my TS850 had an IF
jack on the back, as luck would have it the same IF as the TS820 and the
BS8.
It sort of works, but after reading the manual for the SM220 I find that
the 850 doesn't have the calibrate controls for the VFO that the 820 did
on the front panel.
So here's the 24,000ドル question, I think this may have been covered in
the recent past, but since I suffer from CRS, what might I have to do to
make the SM220 work with my TS850, are there any hidden internal
calibration switches inside the 850? (I don't have the service manual
yet) Or should I just pull the BS8 out and sell both units individually
or leave the BS8 in and sell it as a complete unit and then look for an
SM230?
Thanks
Ray
